REAM participates in 15th REAAA Conference in Bali, Indonesia

REAM President Datuk Ir. Haji Adanan bin Mohamed Hussain led a 53-strong delegation to the Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia (REAAA) Conference in Bali, Indonesia from 20 to 26 March 2017. The REAM delegation was the second biggest, next to the delegation from the Philippines, which has taken over the presidency of REAAA for the current term.

This conference saw the two senior members of REAM, Council Member Dato’ Ir. Chew Swee Hock and former Council Member Dato’ Ir. Han Joke Kwang being honoured with REAAA Honorary Membership for their exemplary and long meritorious service to REAAA. JKR Malaysia was also presented with Mino Award for its Central Spine Road project. Dr. Siti Zaharah Ishak’s paper entitled An Evaluation on the Effectiveness of Motorcycle Lanes in Malaysia was awarded the third placing in the Katahira Awards.

As has been customary for REAM to organise a get together for the delegates, a dinner was held at the Natrabu Minang Restaurant on 22 March. Some 80 participants including invited guests and their spouses attended the dinner.

Delegates, spouses and family members were taken on memorable pre and post conference study tours around the Bali Island.
